[Trans] 100913 Shinjiroh Inoue’s Blog, “keep in mind that i love you”

JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN’s “W”

About the right way to pronounce it… while I was still considering between “Daburu” and “Daburyuu”, at the rehearsal for Dome Jejung said, “That should be Daburyuu shouldn’t it!” so we decided on “Daburyuu” (LOL).

After Tohoshinki’s activities were suspended, when the announcement of the trio’s “THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME” was announced, I received a request to write the lyrics for songs that they can sing at Dome.

At that time, I was entrusted with writing about the real feeling of the trio.

I’m sorry but I can’t write the details about it here.

From now on, I’m going to write about my own feeling… but I could really feel that the trio are sincerely wishing to work as 5 again.

I believe that it is also the wish of the duo and of course, the fans.

I was wondering how I should convey that wish and feeling into a message to fans, thus I created a wrote something called “If you have a message to HoMin, would you tell me your message?” on Twitter and Ameba.

I remember that at that time, I didn’t have that many followers on Ameba, but thanks to everyone who spread it on the Internet, I received a lot of messages.

No, I was entrusted with them.

Among the messages, there are messages that are written in all hiragana so that the duo would be able to read them… I feel very apologetic because I can’t directly deliver the messages to them…

A great number of messages contain the words “We’re waiting for the day you will come back” and “We’re protecting a place for you to come back to”.

When the song was sung at Dome, went on the download chart, and was uploaded everywhere… I received a lot of messages on what the true meaning of the song is.

Among them, there are bitter comments such as “The trio already left, isn’t it funny to say that they’re still waiting?”

Since I wrote that song with the intention of conveying the true feelings of the trio and not my own, thinking of the trio, I’ve been keeping my silence to those comments even though I’m usually a talkative person.

I also made sure that I did not write about anything that is over-sensitive….

However, since they don’t have any promotion for “The…” and “THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME” this time and I didn’t receive any word from the trio thus I decided to gather my courage and write this.

“W” is the symbol of 5 and belong to 5.

“Waiting” is about the day that the 5 of them will work together again.

“Protecting” is the power of the fans.

Those are the feelings of mine, someone who was entrusted with the words from the messages of the trio and the fans.

  1. ‘ “Protecting” is the power of the fans. ‘

I completely agree. It is our job to carry and protect the TVXQ name.

    • Agree.

    • +1

  2. (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)

    • na dooo…. teary teary

  3. so touching~ “teary eyes” Y.Y
i love TVXQ even more :))

  4. I have so many things I want to say… but what is the purpose…
    ahhh
I don’t know if I should love or hate that song
but in the end I just love it
is beautiful even if every time I hear it, it breaks my heart. Even when I don’t want to hear the words and I still hear the song, just because is beautiful

    • That’s exactly how I feel every time I hear this song
I don’t want to hear it because every time I end up crying or feeling depressed all day, but I still listen to it – I have to.

  5. Shinjiroh Inoue-san.
I am very grateful for your support.. Very, very thankful..

  6. i miss them…
the kpop scene is weird lately..xP

  7. ahh his words are so beautiful. how wish we could know more about jyj input but what we have infront of us is the result already. what more can we need to prove how much all five wants to be together.

  8. He always knows how to convey such emotional feelings so beautifully

  9. It’s so nice of him for the effort of making a ‘market research’ and conveyed the voices of the fans. No wonder they always cried during this song. It’s not some lyrics Shinjiroh Inoue took from his own feelings but of real adaption from the fans, them and him, the one who worked with them for so many times.

  10. This was tocuing

I tell myslef i’ve moved on but when I watch their vids eg LITI, stand by you etc I cry and realize that i miss the magic they produced together. Its stupid but I’ll never let go of the hope that they may reunite someday– its delusional but all i can do is hope but as I hope i’ll not get bitter over the situation right now and choose sides but accept it and move on with them with hope.

even if they wanted to sing together the situation has gone past them and there are more people/companies with their interests in this situation that it’s not easy to solve.

i miss them but am thankful that this situation has allowed them to grow and explore activities they may never had been able to.

  11. If they wanna work as five so badly, then they should. They should manage to strike a deal between their different agencies(avex and sme). For instance, they could come together and sing for concerts and promotion of their concerts for 5months, then for the rest of the 7 months left of the year they can do their own solo stuff independently. They could change country every year for the performances, wouldn’t that be good?

    • i think you fail to realize that in an ideal world that would be perfect but there more people and companies who have interests in this situation and believe me it has gone beyond the five of them.

      • I know the decision is not theirs alone, because if it was they would not just express their longings/desires in a song but would have showed us with action instead. What I meant was, HM could talk to SME and JYJ could talk to avex(their only representative right now) and have them make a deal that will satisfy all involved. Maybe it still won’t work, I’m just suggesting that if they haven’t tried that yet they could.
@vik720: SME might have had their career life in their palms but not after the court gave JYJ their freedom to do whatever they want. So right now the only people that are in SME’s palm is HoMin. So, couldn’t HoMin persuade SME to do the right thing by them if SME is still being a nuisance? I mean if HoMin are dissatisfied with SME’s way of conducting their business they can rebel against it and join their bros. However their stance now says they are perfectly fine where they are, with SME, so what’s the point. If they all leave SME (provided they all want to) and they can’t work in Korea as musicians after that, so be it, they can still sing together in Japan and the rest of asia and do other non-music related stuff in Korea instead. I’m just saying that if they all had similar goals or objectives they would have been able to achieve it together. But now they have divided thoughts or goals so they stand at different sides that’s why they’re physically divided as it is. If they could all agree on one thing together, they can accomplish it together.

      • For Homin too a lot of background factors could being playing a hand that we don’t know of. For example, do their parents support their separation from SM?
Or are they willing to spend HUGE sums of money for a lawsuit maybe they can’t afford? (I don’t even know how JaeChunSu are doing so; maybe their on loans from AVEX or a bank cause they definetly did not make enough money under SME (Junsu if I remember correctly had a lot of debts already))

There can also be several other reasons that fans do not know about. To just skim the surface is inadequate. Fans need to remember that their is A LOT of depth to situations.

    • They can’t sing together, doesn’t matter how much they want to. People always seem to forget that they are not under different agencies. JaeChunSu still have a living contract with SM just as HoMin, technically the five of them are still DBSK. But SM said back then that they won’t “give them job” as DBSK, they won’t let them stand on stage as DBSK untill the trio backs off. But as the court decided the three boys can do what ever they want in the mean time (the reason of their decission was exactly SM’s opinion about not letting the trio work so the court said they can go and make money without SM’s permission – if I remember correctly) they signed a separate contract with Avex to be able to work in Japan untill the court’s final decission. So right now all five of them are SM employees still so it’s SM’s decission if they want to let them sing together or not. And apparently they don’t want to let them.

    • seriously dude, not everything goes in our way and certainly not their way. its not like we can really control wad happens considering the number of involvement, esp who is involved in this case. so we cant just say things like why cant they just do this and that because if they could, they would have instead of needing ppl to comment on that.

  12. I really admire this guy, the things that he’s done and said on behalf of the THSK members and their fans, at the risk of he himself being mocked or worse verbally assaulted…

So many composers, musicians and staff who’ve worked with THSK/DBSK members have shown their love and support for the boys, even after more than a year since the lawsuit. This only goes to show the integrity of these five boys =)

I am glad that he clarified the Waiting part – it’s the same as how I interpret it – it is NOT a physical place (SM or AVEX or yet another management company, Korea or Japan or any particular location) that the boys need to wait at. It’s the five of them reuniting, and it doesn’t matter where- DBSK/THSK is whereEVER the five of them are together.

I know a lot of the skeptical fans say, “But there is NO way DBSK can be together unless all of them are in SM!!! So JYJ are just lying and trying to get our sympathy etc etc”

These people believe the rules are set by SM and that there’s nothing that the five boys and their fans can change. Well maybe in the end they’ll be proven right, that things DO go whatever ways SM wants it. But this is not what *I* want to believe, and I know it’s so frigging hard to hold on to one’s belief/faith when things don’t work as expected, when everyone, everything seems to work against you.

BUT, JYJ’s fight against SM is something that I can honestly, 100% support from the bottom of my heart – EVEN WHEN I FEAR FROM TIME TO TIME THAT THEY WILL FAIL MISERABLY. Maybe not fighting against SM would have been the wiser choice, but it would also be something that I would be able to *understand* instead of something I can support with the same level of passion.

Anyway, this is turning out to be another long-winded comment hehe. Will go and leave a comment on Shinjiroh’s blog, am in the middle of reading the many comments left there and there are some touching/interesting stuffs being said right now!

    • Hey Starfield,

I have some thoughts – wish I could share them privately with you (because as I said before I find your posts to be very balanced) ’cause what I have to say might ‘un-hinge’ some people. (seems there are those who are always ‘spoiling for a fight’)

But my comments are directed to you, in any case.

re: “I know a lot of the skeptical fans say, “But there is NO way DBSK can be together unless all of them are in SM!!! So JYJ are just lying and trying to get our sympathy etc etc” ”

That crap makes me crazy. Clearly anyone who has been following the Kpop industry ‘as a whole’ is aware of the outrageous abuses inherent to the system. SME has been cited many times (non-DBSK related) for ‘cooking-the-books’. And SME is NOT alone – it’s rampant – the boyz aren’t lying – worked to exhaustion/illness and paid a pittance of what they’ve earned. (Bastards are still making money off them, while bad-mouthing them) So YEAH… (angry face)

But I also believe that SME (unfortunately dammit) *is* the rule-maker concerning DBSK (as 5) for ANY foreseeable future. They own the brand name – and sadly – HoMin –until such time as they choose otherwise.

This is the part that may set some folks off – so please avert your eyes – The way SME has so far chosen to direct the careers and images of HoMin is woefully lame. Yunho seems to have embraced his role as mentor to the younger SM groups – and I wouldn’t have any (emotional) problems with him staying on as *a company man*. He appears to be able to both function & flourish in that environment. (as long as he’s happy…right?)

But…in reference to Changmin…SME=Total Fail. Unless I’m completely wrong and he has his sights set on becoming a SME stock-hloder (aka Kangta & BoA) – so far it looks like Minja is in permanent *stasis*. He’s fully capable, vocally, to perform on his own…he’s a damn fine dancer (I’m not yet convinced on the acting – honestly WHY everyone has to do that ?) …but my long-winded point is this:

If SME is going continue to refuse to negotiate a DBSK reunion – then why take two perfectly functional solo artists and constrict them into nothingness. (?) It’s been a year. In the entertainment Biz…not performing/producing KILLS careers. (I don’t count 15-20minutes of SM Town – that’s hardly a blip)

So anyway – yeah…SME (imho) holds the cards here – and they’ve got HoMin -face down. (((HUGE SIGH)))

(seee…I think my ramble was longer than yours) ❤

      • Hi Sally_b:

LOL, is there a way for me to PM your allkpop a/c? Thanks again for your kind words regarding my oh-so-painfully long-winded comments ^^

        >But I also believe that SME (unfortunately dammit) *is* the rule-maker concerning DBSK (as 5) for ANY foreseeable future. They own the brand name –> and sadly – HoMin –until such time as they choose otherwise.

By brand name you didn’t mean DBSK/TVXQ/THSK? *My understanding* is that the name is owned by the five members- but even if this interpretation of mine is not 100% correct, I am 100% sure that it is not owned by SM as the court has repeatedly rejected SM’s claim over ownership of the DBSK name.

If you were referring to how the public in general view DBSK as SM’s property, then I would actually sadly, have to agree. It’s not just the trolls, I’ve seen just way too many well-intended fans saying the like.

As for the ‘foreseeable future’- I know I am among the minority when I say I am at the same time 1) don’t see a possible reunion in the foreseeable future and yet 2) do not see why they won’t be able to reunite years down the road.
It would seem that many fans are hoping for a reunion ASAP, like if not by the end of 2010 then come on 2011 THE LATEST!!! Or ELSE the reunion is NEVER gonna happen, and I am losing my faith, and JYJ and Homin are drifting apart etc etc…
I was so shocked that the Cyzo piece which speculated about a TVXQ reunion the other day generated so many comments along the line of “YES THIS IS THE BEST NEWS IN A LONG TIME”- the fact that there are still so many fans who haven’t accepted that yes, the trio and the duo have parted their ways for now and sadly, the parting is *indefinite*. It’s up to us fans whether we want to support the individual members, or the ‘units’ that they have formed, but to condition this support on a reunion in the near future is unwise. To always treat the members as a fraction/component/part of DBSK (I love you because you are part of DBSK, and because DBSK will definitely be back, like SOON) is… actually disrespectful to the member as an individual artist.

Anyway I apologize for the sidetracking (an awfully wordy one at that)- my point is that SM upper hand in the ‘foreseeable future’ in terms of DBSK reunion, does not bother me all that much. I accept it as a matter-of-fact like I accept other unpleasant things in life LOL.

As for Yunho and Changmin’s career paths under SME- I actually do sense that SM does have plans for both of them, ‘globally’ too. It’s more obvious with Yunho, who’s been doing projects after projects in the past year. As for Changmin, I sense that SM has been waiting for something to happen- I dunno, maybe when Changmin’s contract with Avex ends (rumoured to be November)? But things that Changmin has been saying in interviews, like how he’s been studying English while continuing to improve on his Japanese, like how he’s sorry that he isn’t able to tell the fans when he’d become active again but HE WILL BE, like how he admires Kaneshiro Takeshi who’s multi-lingual and recognized as an international star/works in multi-national projects etc etc, makes me feel that he’ll have lots of works to do too, just don’t know when.

        >If SME is going continue to refuse to negotiate a DBSK reunion – then why >take two perfectly functional solo artists and constrict them into nothingness.

Like I ranted above, I think SME does have grand plans for the two- but hopefully SME isn’t gonna be stupid/selfish enough to release an album for the duo under the name DBSK. Fanwar aside, that will just bound Homin unfairly to the PAST, and make them unable to launch their career as independent artists, as THEMSELVES.

This is why I appreciate Avex much more than SM as a management company- from early inclusion of member-composed songs in the albums, to members having significant input in stage/performance/song creation, Avex allows its artists much more freedom than SM. With JYJ’s songs I never had to wonder if it’s them wanting to convey certain feelings or Avex *forced* them to say stuffs (there maybe Avex input, but likely not imposed on forcibly). But with Homin songs, interviews and press conference speeches (LOL), I have no confidence as to which part is from Homin, which part is from SM or which part is from them both…

Anyway, enough ranting about SM. I’ve given up on that organization long ago and frankly have stopped to give a damn – except for when they do or say things that have direct impact on JYJ. No more energy to trying to analyze whether Homin agree with/are happy about what SME does to them, since I really have not any clue (they are smiling, so I assume they are happy???) and it’s them who’ve made the decision to stay.

    • Hey Starfield,

*there’s not a ‘reply’ button on your last post…so it may appear I’m replying to the earlier one. lol …in any case:

re: PM’ing me at allkpop – sure…no prob, though honestly I don’t check the PM that often. (I’ve gotten a few goofy messages from, um ….admirers..hahaha) But I have no problem with exchanging e-mail addys through there. 🙂

I’ll try to be MUCH more brief.

      * ownership of brand-DBSK – means to me – legal control of the songs and any incoming $$ from said past work. (basically, if the 5 wanted to perform as 1 – without SME’s permission = no-go)

      * personal ownership of DBSK = the 5 boyz …no debate.

      * your comments: 1) don’t see a possible reunion in the foreseeable future and yet 2) do not see why they won’t be able to reunite years down the road.
      ABSOLUTE AGREEMENT.

      * re: Cyzo piece which speculated about a TVXQ reunion – (face-palm) yes. I know everyone is hungry (starving) for news of an impending reunion, but well…(reference the last/above bullet-point) I also accept the present & foreseeable as ‘fact’.

      * re: Yunho & Changmin’s career under SME – I’m going to try…TRY…to embrace your optimistic view of their upcoming activities. If they pull an *Amber* f(x) on Changmin I’m going to form a Ninja-Cassies group and ‘storm the palace’. Heads will roll ~ ~ ~ hahahaa.

      * re: ” but hopefully SME isn’t gonna be stupid/selfish enough to release an album for the duo under the name DBSK”
….omg…could they really be that insane? (bangs head on keyboard) that.would.just.be…um. NO.

      * re: “that will just bound Homin unfairly to the PAST, and make them unable to launch their career as independent artists, as THEMSELVES.” no argument whatsoever…from me. But speaking of Fanwars – how capable are Cassies-at-large able to accept Ho & Min as solo artists? well at least they’ve got 2 (us) who are ok with it.

      * re: “with Homin songs, interviews and press conference speeches (LOL), I have no confidence as to which part is from Homin, which part is from SM or which part is from them both…” Truer words, never spoken. you nailed that.

      * AVEX – for some reason – and I have no information to confirm, but I hold on to the idea that Avex will be the ‘bridge’ that brings the 5 back to ‘some form’ of partnership. Perhaps just wishful thinking – but it’s my thread-of-hopefulness.

Well…darn….I wasn’t very brief after all. Your fault….you write SO well, don’t like to miss anything. (((hugs you)))

Look forward to more ‘chats’ 🙂

      • Sally_b:

Hahaha, I am sorry but I am an epic FAIL – can you PM my allkpop a/c? I just realize I actually don’t know how to PM people on allkpop!

        >ownership of brand-DBSK – means to me – legal control of the songs and any incoming $$ from said past work. (basically, if the 5 wanted to perform as 1 – >without SME’s permission = no-go)

Well, they can always write and sing new songs, can’t they ^_~?

        >re: Yunho & Changmin’s career under SME – I’m going to try…TRY…to embrace your optimistic view of their upcoming activities. If they pull an *Amber* f(x) on Changmin I’m going to form a Ninja-Cassies group and ‘storm >the palace’. Heads will roll ~ ~ ~ hahahaa.

I think Changmin’s fans will definitely have KYM’s ass kicked if it’s well into 2011, and there’s still no sign of Changmin doing anything other than posing for fashion mags and doing 15-min gigs for SMT.

        >how capable are Cassies-at-large able to accept Ho & Min as solo artists? well >at least they’ve got 2 (us) who are ok with it.

I actually think most of them will more than welcome Homin as solo artists right?
Minus those who truly cannot support any of the member individually w/o a solid promise of DBSK reunion like, tomorrow =D

        >AVEX – for some reason – and I have no information to confirm, but I hold on to the idea that Avex will be the ‘bridge’ that brings the 5 back to ‘some form’ of >partnership. Perhaps just wishful thinking – but it’s my thread-of-hopefulness.

I will hope together with you =)

Please PM me, the idiot that fails to work out how the allkpop system works.

    • i just wanna say that i enjoy reading both (Starfield AND sally_b) your comments. very well-thought through, informative and put the points of view of some fans aka me into clear perspective.
reading comments like yours really value-adds to my knowledge and disposition to this whole matter. thank you for that 🙂

      • @sujudbskfan: I agree with you completely. These are what DBSK’s fans SHOULD be like. Level-headed and able to see all sides of the coin. But, everyone can’t be like that (sighs)

  13. Waiting for…

The day when the W will raise again…and the five spots will be occupied with its rightful owners.

The day that the fans protection will stop… and they will be able to protect themselves and convey their feelings so openly.

The day where all that waiting will end…and we’ll be able to see them as five again.

    • A I love ur comments

      • Thank you dear …it’s just how I feel ^^

  14. Somehow Im starting to get emotionally detached to the drama of their songs(or any drama recently). The novelty of all the dramas is starting to wear off on me. Im starting to appreciate more of their song than what it means to them.

  15. so much love for this post <3<3<3<3<3
love the boys, love this guy, love ppl who supports the boys, love how the boys still have so much love and support from the industry ❤

  16. There r several points tingles me when reading
    1. No promotion for “the” and “thanksgiving in dome” —> suddenly I thought , why avex has no promotion about it ? I know even without promotion they already rule the chart but I can’t stop thinking that Avex just signing them while they still have “it” – the rest of the tohoshinki momentum, so they will dig as much as avex still can. Ooo I’m worried with jyj….
    2. Comments like “they already left why bother waiting ” —> does the Korean and Japanese fans has different side of stories regarding this matter?? Specially when sm rules and jyj has not active in Korea ever since the lawsuit Because it not about them leaving but it about for an option of a better life. It’s very basic. I do not blame them, jyj or homin because we want them happy above all things right?

    • I think the answer of your first question is that Avex needs to keep the trio away from any bad impacts (or anties) cuased by the promotion while let them keep contact with their fans.

Soory for my poor English ^^

  17. Shinjiro only knows of Tohosomnia and OneTVXQ sites, it would be nice if he knows of SYC too..XD

he probably will learn more of messages from fans than he wants to~

  18. thanks for sharing, SYC:)

this is probably one of my favorite posts:) and W is definitely my favorite ballad songs with Love in the Ice, Miss you, Proud:)

    • as well as Whatever they say^^

  19. “Just keep singing… Warming our heart although there’s many tears”.
I know they will be stand stronger, with all of our support.
They just need our supports. Not our fights.
Just keep loving them if you want.
    Don’t fight…. please, don’t fight….
    It will be hurt them.
“From now on, I’m going to write about my own feeling… but I could really feel that the trio are sincerely wishing to work as 5 again.
I believe that it is also the wish of the duo and of course, the fans”.
Shinjiroh-san, thank you very much for understand them and their fans feeling.
    Hwaiting…!!!

  20. Srsly, why can fans, for once, try to understand their situation? It’s not like they won’t to be dbsk anymore, but their was a thing we didn’t know made it immposible, we know how evil sme is! Just trust them, they know what they did and said! If u don’t like this situation just leave, no need to put harsh words for the trio and homin. They needed our support and protection now.

  21. He could not say much but this time he says it all and I really like it.
I mean, it doesn’t matter that he could not write about anything. The bottom line is that he knows what the trio’s feeling as well as the fans. That’s why he’s be able to write this special song ‘W’.
I really love the lyric. Shinjiroh-san is sure a genius in composing. Keep in mind that I love you, and You will always be our pride , these two sentenses of the lyric strike right through my heart. This songs tell its meaning through lyric, absolutely love it.

I believe that five of them want to work as 5 again. Everyone has their hope so all we can do is waiting for them to come back with love and trust we have in 5 of them.

  22. i´m really thankful with this man … thanks for his lovely song and thanks for your words …

they cant be together now, but we will wait … we are casiies ^^

  23. I’m keeping my faith. I’m not gonna let my biased took over my senses and making me taking side either for JYJ or HoMin cos DBSK are Junsu, Yoochun, Jaejoong, Changmin and Yunho. DBSK are 5.

I WILL WAIT FOR THEM. DON’T CARE HOW LONG. I’LL WAIT.

  24. TT-TT too early in the morning for an article like that

  25. I live this man 🙂
Why people always think that they all need to be under SM ? Why JYJ has to return to SM or HoMin has to leave the SM? They can work as 5 even if they are under different company. I know it is hard maybe and tehre are to many obstacles but nothing is impossible and things can change as long as they want it.
In the end if they can’t manage to come back as 5 I won’t be angry at them, never. this is life, it is not perfect. As long as they are happy and they keep singing, I will be with them.

  26. I just tweeted a very loooong message to shinjiroh-san -_______-;; I just had to, couldn’t help it T^T

  27. ❤ nice man ^^

    thx for sharing dear!

  28. I will always wait for and protect all 5…don’t worry

  29. T___T

  30. Love this man & always believe in the 5!

  31. * Major Sobs
That’s why I love ‘W’ so so much
    Everyone will wait for you
    Protecting the place for you
For TVXQ / THSK / DBSK

Hope there’ll be a day where we can hear TVXQ’s version of ‘W’… T^T
It will be the most beautiful song for us…

Thanks for the one who wrote this song… T^T

  32. i am waiting & never will gave up.aktf my baies.
